The year 2000 was Flash's first standing at stud to the public. Since then, we've seen all his
full-Thoroughbred and warmblood-cross babies and are thrilled with the breeding results. 90% of the
TB mares returned the next year, because the owners were so pleased with the resulting foals. All his
offspring so far have straight legs, good feet and bone, and outstanding dispositions. See his TB
babies and crosses, including those we have for sale,on babies page.
He has crossed very well with Quarter horses, Arabians, and Warmbloods.
Flash also started competing in eventing as a 12 year old, having not been ridden since racing as a
7 year old, and placed 6th at his first novice horse trial, finishing on his dressage score, having no
time or jumping penalties. I have also been very pleased with his bravery (he is not at all "flighty"),
he never spooks, or refuses jumps, and has never refused a jump in the two years I have been riding him
in eventing. We have competed him at a few competitions, as time allows, and are very happy with his jumping
ability and durability-having never been lame in 5 years of riding and galloping on hard, uneven, and often
rocky ground.
He has also proven to have an exceptional disposition by pasture breeding, hand breeding, and semen
collection all starting at the ripe old age of ten. He has also worked on area ranches, and at shows,
with mares and geldings tied next to him, as well as turned loose in pens with him. He has never bit or
kicked any of the horses he's been in contact with, and is often the herd babysitter. I often see our
calves butting him in the legs as he continues grazing.
Given Flash's conformation, performance on the track, athleticism under saddle, and pedigree, we believe
he will sire great performance sporthorses: track racing, jumping, dressage, barrel racing, etc.
